Just some things I thought you guys might be interested in.
My rambling tutorials seem to go down well. This is less of a rambling tutorial and more of a ramble, but seeing as so many people seem not to know about these things, I thought it was worth writing up. Nothing specific on here, just haphazard advice, but enjoy.
Nice! Very informative. I'll keep these in mind while I practice.
As for using filters, I don't see if there is a problem when someone is very new to the digital program and tries different filters out, for effects. Filters are actually quite fun, you know? They're great for experimenting and learning to feel comfortable in your surroundings. Maybe combining filters, then drawing over them for added effect etc seems alright to me. <:3
But yeah...when people claim digital art is just 'clicking a button' that annoys me. I've only had photoshop for two months, and ms paint for a few years, and it is certainly a lot more than 'clicking a button' to get a finished result.
Oh yeah, experimentation is fine by me, and I encourage it - hence why I said I would study that image I did in that section (the one with the overlay layer) because I liked the effect. I'd just like to discourage people from thinking you can make a piece of art by clicking around a bit.
Anyway, glad you thought the rambling was informative.
I love your tutorials! They always explain stuff in a way that even I can understand and are overall very helpful. Thank you again for sharing some of your knowledge. 8)

Oh, but I nearly submitted this one without editing it, then - believe me - some bits of it wouldn't have made any sense at all!
I'm really glad you like them (although I'm sure you don't need to criticise yourself by saying 'that even I can understand' ).
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

I'm still learning too, and always will be. Those tips were just some things I've picked up on the way.
